The soul is the master

“Flee fornication” and every other carnal sin, for man must never become a slave to his passions, a plaything of his appetites. “I can try everything, but not everything is for my profit; I can try everything, but I will not allow myself to be enslaved in any way” (1Cor 6:12). Our body was given by God to serve the soul in His holy wills. The body is a servant; not a master, not a boss, not a tyrant. The soul must be the mistress and master; it must command and the body must obey and perform. Is this happening? If it does, then there is harmony between body and soul. Is this not the case? Then the soul becomes a slave and the body a master, and as a master it subjugates the soul to every sin. What a sad thing, the servant ruling the mistress!
