When our brother makes a mistake and falls in sin, we must endure his temptation. True love inspires us to make sacrifices for the sake of our neighbor. Without sacrifice, with our reproach, we push our brother, who sinned, to fall lower, while with the silent sacrifice of our love and our secret prayer for him, we awaken his conscience, which rises and accuses him and thus repents and corrects himself.
