The nativity of Theotokos

Anna, the mother of Virgin Mary, was infertile. Yet, she waited in hope. Let us pray to God and the saints to illuminate us to realize what waiting, wait- ing in hope, means.

Imagine what would happen if this hope sparked in us now. Once we are baptized and Christ hasn’t rejected us, but has brought us up to this moment, regardless of how we have been leading our lives, it means that He loves us. And He would open the road for us. God would reveal Himself more and more, shed light on things, make them clear and put us on His path. What would we come across on this path? The Lord knows. But the harder it would be –which means that you’d hurt, bleed and struggle– the better.

That’s why you shouldn’t hold on to some things, however good they may be, but follow the Lord, be- cause He is the way, the life, the truth, the virtue. The Lord is everything.
