Catherine the Great-martyr

Saint Catherine possessed all human gifts, all of them, indeed. Richness, wisdom and beauty, too. However, she sacrificed all her gifts as if they were nothing, in order not to lose Christ. Not only that, but the love of Christ –a love unsurpassed that can be compared to nothing– reached the very depth of her being like a sword that hurt her heart very deeply.

That has to happen to each one of us. We should give ourselves freely to Christ, be devoted to Him and love Him without limits.

Christ attracts the heart of every man, no matter who he is. Everyone’s heart is created in such a way so as to be able to pick up on the love of Christ, to be hurt and burnt, in a way, by the love of Christ.

That’s a secret experience, an experience that, in a way, is given to us as a gift by the Lord, a gift to everyone.
