– Someone, Elder, asked us: ‘Since our salvation is in God’s hands, why, when we invoke the Virgin Mary, we say: “Most Holy Theotokos, save us”? – Let’s say a woman has a minister’s mother as a neighbor and begs her to see to it that a job is found for her child. The neighbor agrees, but she will not find the job herself, but will ask her son, who as a minister has this opportunity and will do his mother’s bidding. So we, too, beg the Virgin Mary to save us and the Virgin Mary adks her Son who has this power. And He pleases Her, because He loves His Mother very much.
