On July 11, the miracle performed by Saint Euphemia is commemorated,
when, during the time of byzantine emperors Marcianou and Pulcheria, two
volumes were compiled containing the terms of the Council of Chalcedon (451
AD), one of the Orthodox and one of the heretic Monophysites. So, in order to
end the dispute between the two sides, it was decided to place both volumes
in the tomb of St. Euphemia, to show which of the two the Saint would accept.
After unsealing the tomb, the one of the Monophysites was found thrown at
the feet of the Saint, and the one of the orthodox on her chest!
